Good With Cats

Dogs noted with this icon may be placed with cats.

Some Border Collies' herding/prey drive are too high to allow them to live peacefully with cats and other small animals. Whenever possible, our dogs are tested with cats to determine whether they can live with them without trouble. Those dogs that have proven themselves trustworthy with cats, will be noted as such.

Please read the dog's individual bio to determine if there is a specific type of cat that is best suited to this dog (i.e., dog savvy)

If you have cats in your home (regardless of their temperament, age or disposition) please DO NOT inquire about those dogs we have determined cannot live with cats. This includes any outdoor cats that reside on your property. In addition, if you are planning to acquire a cat in the future, please do not inquire about these dogs. We want all our dogs to go to "forever homes" and not need to be returned in the future, particularly for situations that were already known while they were in rescue.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us for more information. If your question pertains to a particular dog, please address your question to that dog's rescue contact.
