Good With Kids

Dogs noted with this icon may be placed with children.

Not all rescued Border Collies are good candidates for homes with children. In fact, one of the primary reasons Border Collies are relinquished to rescue is because, as a breed, they are not typically ideal candidates to live with the activity level and noise that comes with children. Whenever possible, we will test our rescue dogs with kids of different ages, to determine if they will be good candidates for such a household.

Please read the dog's individual bio to determine if there is an age limit to the children the dog can be placed with (i.e., over 6, teens, etc.)

Dogs that we have determined are simply not suited to living with children (or children of a particular age) will NOT be placed with them, so if you have kids, please do not inquire about these dogs.

If you have any questions about Border Collies and Children, please feel free to contact us for more information. If your question pertains to a particular dog, please address your question to that dog's rescue contact.
