Aaron is a large Border Collie mix (possibly with Great Pyrenees), around 2 years old and weighs approx. 70 lbs. He appears to have a medium drive.

When Aaron came into rescue he had heartworm and had to endure some painful treatments to save his life. The vet always commented on his great spirits even though he had to be put through some painful shots.

Aaron has completed his fourth week of recovery and is doing great. He has had to be kept quiet so his treatment can take effect. He is now able to have some more activity and his foster family is starting to see his full enthusiasm.

Aaron is a big, loveable guy. He loves to be with people, and children. He loves to snuggle, give kisses, go for walks and car rides.

Aaron is currently living with 4 dogs and 3 cats. He has not been able to really play with his canine foster friends but hangs out with all of them nicely. He would be fine as a solo dog or living with another dog.

Aaron really needs a home without cats as he completely obsesses over them, to the point that he won't even go outside if he knows they're in the house!

Aaron loves to play fetch and will bring it right back to you. He learns things very quickly and is very eager to please. He knows "sit," and "crate" and we are working on "down" and "come."

To help Aaron bond with his new family, as well as to make his basic manners more reliable (especially his recall), a positive reinforcement-based training class is a requirement of his adoption.

Aaron is being fostered in CT.
