UPDATE

Dandelion is such an AWESOME little guy with TONS of personality!

Dandelion is now a whopping 3 months old and winning hearts wherever he goes! He has a beautiful, fluffy white coat, the most stunning blue eyes and a tail that never stops wagging!

Dandelion continues watching and learning new things, everyday. He is one smart fella! He is learning hand signals at an amazing rate. He has learned the signal for 'come, sit, down and good job' and obeys them consistently. He is very in tune to facial expression and body language. He is so intuitive and responsive to people and other dogs, that people are astonished to learn that he is deaf!

Dandy sleeps through the night in his crate without a peep. His potty training is progressing unbelievably well. In the 3 weeks that he has been in his foster home, he has only had a handful of accidents. (mostly due to momentary inattentiveness on his foster family's part!)

Things Dandy LOVES, LOVE, LOVES!

His food!!!

He will pick up and carry his food bowl around when he is hungry and eats every meal with gusto, even remembering to lick the outside of the bowl too! You know... just in case.

Water!

Good for a nice cool drink, even better for playing in!! Yes, occasionally that the water bowl. (you have been warned!)

Toys!

Dandy is a tugging fiend! He also loves to chase toys. Toys with funky textures are favorites too. Really, any thing to Dandy can be a toy, especially things he thinks he is not supposed to have!

People!

Any and all. No discrimination here. He greets everyone like they are a long lost friend

Other dogs!

Any dog that will play with him......big, small or all sizes in between!

Snugglz!

Dandy love so be hugged and kissed. He even doesn't mind being carried around in any position. Whatever works for you, he just goes with the flow!

Things Dandy does not like;
Ummm... Can't think of any off the top of my head that he doesn't like! Nothing really bothers him at all... ever!!!

He is such a happy guy that everything is fun for him. If it is not fun, he makes it fun! He is a big party in a little fluffy package!

Sometimes he is an absolute angel, sometimes he is a little hellion, but he is always super smart, super fun, super lovable guy.

NOTE: Although Dandy's foster family had quite a bit of experience training and fostering border collies, they have had NO previous experience with deaf dogs. They are pleased to be finding that it has been very easy to adapt to even in an active family home. The family finds themselves giving simultaneous verbal and hand signal commands to all the dogs in the house without even thinking about it!

Dandelion is an awesome little male pup! We think he's pick of the litter in terms of activity and interaction. He always wants to be involved in whatever is going on. He is very clever, active, and would make a phenomenal sports dog in our admittedly biased opinions. He has enjoyed playing on the wobbly sled, the miniature a-frame, and the little tunnel set up in the puppy play pen - very brave and always up for new things!

While he is deaf, this only means you need to communicate with hand signals rather than words - and since dogs naturally pick up hand signals more quickly anyway, that will be a breeze for him and his new family.

Dandelion's adopters will be required to attend an approved positive reinforcement based puppy kindergarten class with him.

Homes with children and a determination about whether a fence is required will be made on a case-by-case basis.

Dandelion has been weaned onto a raw diet and is thriving. Our ideal home would be interested in continuing to feed a raw diet to maximize the health and longevity of their new family member. To learn more about feeding a raw diet, take a look here:
