New England Border Collie Rescue - Helping Border Collies in Need

Fairfax Peg ~ ADOPTED

Yes

Miss Fairfax Peg is a sweet and adorable young (~1.5 years old) female border collie. She came into rescue because her previous family was unable to meet her needs.

Peg is crate trained, rides well in the car, and gets along well with the other dogs in her foster home, and also does well with the cats. She loves to play with toys and to run around and wrestle with her foster brother. She is good at retrieving and is quickly learning not to play "keep away".

Peg is very affectionate and bonds quickly with people. She will seek out human company and gently encourage humans to give her attention. She has interacted well with children but will herd kids on bicycles and swings, and will therefore do best with a family without young children.

Peg is a typically active young border collie. She is learning some basic training in her foster home, currently, and doing well. Her recall with distractions is improving, her "sit" is great and her "wait" and "down" are coming along as well. She is physically pretty fearless and would probably enjoy agility. She likes to swim and bite at the water her feet splash up.

Her adopter will be required to take her to an approved, positive reinforcement based training class as a condition on her adoption, to help build her confidence and her bond with her new family.

If you think you can offer Peg a loving home, please complete the application and get in touch. Peg is being fostered in VT.

You must have an approved application on file to be considered for any adoptable dog.

Please submit your application BEFORE inquiring about a particular dog.
