New England Border Collie Rescue - Helping Border Collies in Need

Flute is an adorable, petite, ABCA registered border collie. She was born on July 20, 2012. She was given up because her owner had to travel for work and was unable to meet her needs. She is a busy, busy gal and she absolutely needs a job to do! In her first home, she spent a lot of time on a tie out and became obsessed with the passing cars. Once she got into foster care, she was able to transfer her obsession to herding the other dogs while they fetched. She needs her own person to work with her on-on-one to bring out her amazing potential.

She gets along wonderfully with all the other dogs in her foster home! She plays with the young dogs and respects the older dogs, although she does annoy them a bit with her herding! She is good with dog savvy cats.

When she's not busy attending to the other dogs, she adores attention from people! She is super friendly with everyone she meets. She has not met any children while in foster care and we do not know how she is with children. Because of her strong herding drive, she will not be placed with young children.

Flute is classic border collie in everything she does and it is our preference to place her in a home with herding breed experience, so that she will have the best opportunity to shine.

A fence is always preferred but individual circumstances will be evaluated. (No invisible fence, please!)

She will be placed with a training requirement and you must have an approved trainer lined up prior to adoption.

She is currently thriving on a raw diet and we would love it her adoptive home would considering continuing her on this diet. Here is some general information: http://www.dogsnaturallymagazine.com/raw-feeding-primer/

Please note dogs are not placed on a first come, first served basis. We always look for the ideal match between dog and adopter. If you think you and Flute could be the perfect match, and you have an approved application on file, please contact her foster home and let them know why!

You must have an approved application on file to be considered for any adoptable dog.

Please submit your application BEFORE inquiring about a particular dog.

And don't forget to check out the NEBCR Foster Dog Blog for even more updates on the terrific dogs available for adoption!
