New England Border Collie Rescue - Helping Border Collies in Need

Gus ~ ADOPTED

Yes

Hi, Gus here - yup, that's right, here in rescue. Me, a real nice boy - why you say? Family didn't really have time for me, you know life gets busy and well, sometimes the pets just can't get any time or attention. So that's my story, my brother is here in rescue too - here's a little more about me.

I am 2.5 years old, a black and white rough coated, drop-eared neutered boy. I had some children I lived with. I loved them. Whenever I see kids I kind of wiggle out of my skin.

I've seen sheep since coming here to the rescue place but I was a little skittish about them. But hey, there are lots of other dogs here and you can really see me do some neat border collie stuff with them! I can give them eye, I can stalk them, I can run like the wind in circles around them. Once in a while I'll grab a ball but for now the best part is running around after them as they get the ball! no time.

My brother and I were split up when we got here. He was a little overbearing for me. I wanted to get some good pets and stuff from my humans but he always seemed to get there first and that kind of left me out to the side. In my foster home I'm getting some more attention. The humans here actually make room for me to come on in for attention. They say I need to gain a little confidence in myself and that I am getting better day by day.

So, I'm looking for my new family now. I'd love a home that would let me be me until I get used to you. I also think I'd really like to play ball or frisbee, I just haven't learned how yet because my brother always beat me to it! If you have other dogs I'll probably also play that circle 'em up game with them so probably not someone who would mind that.

Gus is being fostered in upstate NY, near Albany.
