Lucy ~ ADOPTED

Yes

Meet Lucy! Lucy is one of the 9 dogs taken in from a Texas Puppy mill. She is a plucky little girl with a lot of heart and energy! She is a young adult female who is ready for her forever home.

Lucy is a powerhouse in a tiny package, weighing only 25 pounds. She is constantly on the go. Not much bothers this girl except maybe being left out of all the fun!

Because of her rough start in life, Lucy is still learning what it means to live with a family. She is a neat girl and likes to keep her crate clean. Her teeth have been worn down probably from chewing on wire cages in her former life. What she does have left are in good shape with the ability to eat dry kibble or raw with little to no problems.

Lucy would be best in a home with someone who will give her an outlet for all her energy. She has not been tried on sheep but might have some ability there. She does tend to run in big circles around the other dogs when out with them. She can also use her Border Collie stare and crouch to intimidate a less confident dog but is easily redirected.

She has not been tried around cats but with her strong drive would probably take to chasing them. Lucy is a smart girl and learns quickly when focused. This should get better as she learns what it is to earn rewards from her humans.

Enrollment into a positive based training program will be a requirement for her placement. She has shown some signs of resource guarding which is understandable given her former life.

Because of her high energy and lack of focus on humans, a fenced will be a requirement for this girl. She has not been exposed to children but does show affection for humans and no fear of them. Children older than 10 years old might be OK (to be evaluated on a case by case basis).
