New England Border Collie Rescue - Helping Border Collies in Need

Here's Marli enjoying a July 4th hike up Sugarloaf Mt. in Crawford Notch NH!

One update: Marli has been diagnosed with hypothyroidism. This is an easily treatable condition that only requires twice a day medication that is inexpensive.

Otherwise Marli is doing fantastically well and is rarin' to find her forever family!

My name is Marli and my foster family tells me I am a "good girl" all the time. Actually they give me the "thumbs up" sign because I am deaf. I wasn't always deaf but have adapted really well to it. I know lots of sign language and can sit, lay down, come, high five, go to bed and (my favorite) find my ball!

I love all people, big and small, anyone who can toss a ball or a snack my way! I don't even mind cats or chickens. I have three dog friends at my foster home, at first I didn't really care for them but once I knew they were nice we all became buddies.

I have been called a "food opportunist" aka- will do anything for a treat. Sometimes I even help myself to unattended food at the table. This is the only thing that gets me the "no, no" sign from my foster mom.

I am happiest by someone's side playing ball or going for a walk but I have no problem snoozing a rainy day away curled up inside or going for a ride in the car. A fenced in yard would make me feel secure but all I really need is a person outside with me to be my hearing aid companion and play ball with me because in case I forgot to mention it.... I love to play ball.

Marli is being fostered in northern New Hampshire.

You must have an approved application on file to be considered for any adoptable dog.
