Meadow is a darling, six-year-old, tri-color, female border collie with some amazing manners! She is crate trained and house broken. She knows basic obedience and is a super smarty pants. She is a bit overweight, but dainty and graceful, nonetheless. While playing ball, she not only stops short of the garden, but also waits patiently for someone to retrieve the ball from the flowers. That's a polite girl!
She is very people oriented and has a strong desire to please. She is respectful of both children and small animals. She follows directions wonderfully. Meadow can be a bit cranky when first introduced to new dogs, therefore, a home with other dogs will need to be mindful of this situation and make slow, cautious introductions. She is much more comfortable with outside interactions, especially when there is a ball to redirect her attention. While she is doing well adjusting to her three foster siblings, Meadow would be perfectly happy as an only dog.
Meadow can run with the best, walk nicely on a leash, or just settle down for some nice snuggle time. She has no interest (so far) in swimming or even getting her feet wet. She loves to ride in the car, with her favorite spot being directly behind the driver. Unlike her foster brother and sisters, who feel compelled to bark continuously at falling leaves and scurrying squirrels, Meadow is a quiet, yet attentive, kind of lady, offering one "woof" of welcome as someone enters. This girl has manners!!
Meadow is being fostered in New Hampshire.
