New England Border Collie Rescue - Helping Border Collies in Need

Rylee ~ ADOPTION PENDING

Yes

My name is Rylee! I am a healthy 10 month old Border Collie and I love to play! My foster mom says that I have unusual coloring for a border collie – but I think it looks pretty normal. I look at it every day! She says they call it “sable” or some call it a “red headed tri.” Either way, that's me!

I love to play ball and chase and frisbee...I just plain like to play. In my foster home there are other border collies and we have so much fun playing. There are also sheepz and I think they are fun, too. I don't really get to play with them 'cuz when I try to get them to play, they run away. But I can get them to go back to my foster mom. And when they stop, I stop, too. It is a fun game to bring them back to foster mom. My foster mom says I am a natural. I don't quite know what that means, but I know that she didn't teach me about bringing them to her – it just seemed like the right thing to do.

My mom says I have nice drive. I don't know how she can say that because she won't let me in the front seat of the car and my feet don't reach the pedal, but she says I learn well and I would be great in sports like agility and flyball. (I LOVE tennis balls). And I would LOVE to do more herding.

I used to live with a wonderful family, but we just weren't right for each other. My foster mom says that even though I won't hurt kids, I am overstimulated my them and when they are around I am constantly on edge...so no kids in my forever family.

...and I need at least one other dog to play with – one that will chase with me. I really need that kind of interaction to balance my energy and drive.

We are working on my recall, and my foster mom says it is getting much much better. I am not perfect yet, but I am really trying! An approved positive reinforcement-based class will be a requirement of my adoption.

So if you think I sound like your girl, and you have an approved application on file, contact my foster mom.
