New England Border Collie Rescue - Helping Border Collies in Need

Tye ~ ADOPTED

In progress
(see below)

Hello - I'm a 3 year old male border collie and my friends call me Tye. My foster mom thinks I am the best dog ever, she says I'm handsome and very smart.

Right now I am working on becoming housebroken. This is hard work and I will need reminders that marking is not allowed inside. Pheww! Good thing I'm a smart boy and I learn quickly.

At my foster home I practice basic obedience and proper leash etiquette everyday. My E-Z walk harness helps me a lot. I need to attend a positive training class, it will be a fun way to bond with my new family.

My foster mom has introduced me to a lot of people, young and old. I enjoy being around humans of all ages however kids tend to arouse me while they are running around playing. Unfortunately I have to ask for a home with no children. My instincts tell me to control their behavior with herding and nipping. Learning self control is on my to-do list.

The doctor says I have a mild case of Bell's Palsy. It makes my face droop slightly on one side. I can still run fast after my balls ( I love playing fetch!). Bell's Palsy is cosmetic only and has no impact on my quality of life. There's no special care needed other than a requirement for "love".

I was also recently diagnosed with Autoimmune Thyroiditis, which is an hereditary thyroid disease. It is controlled with an inexpensive medication and it requires annual blood testing to assure my medication is at optimal dosage.

I absolutely love toys & balls. I like baths, walks, car rides, the beach and snuggling, but most of all - Playing fetch is what I like the most. Even though I am focused on my human I wouldn't mind living with another dog if they are not ball/toy obsessed like I am. My foster mom says I can live with dog savvy cats however they can't be the crazy kind of cats who race all around the house. After I am use to your cat/cats I will let them rub against my body when they want love. If you have an approved application you can contact my foster home & learn more about me.

Tye is neutered, UTD on vaccinations, microchipped and currently takes heartworm & flea/tick preventatives. Tye has completed treatment for Lyme. He is being fostered in RI
