New England Border Collie Rescue - Helping Border Collies in Need

2 year old Zac was found as a stray, with a previously broken leg and bullet fragments embedded in his face. Since the break in his leg healed on it's own, his gait is slightly off. He's gotten the all clear from the orthopedic vet to be a young active BC! The fragments in his face do not bother him, so the vet it best to leave them as they were.

While it took some time for this sweet boy to learn what living in a house was all about, he's adjusted just fine. Typical for a young border collie, he is full of energy and needs someone who understands the stimulation (both mental and physical) than a young BC needs. Zac lives with dog savvy cats, small dogs and other herding dogs. He loves to rough house with his foster siblings and he LOVES the hose. He would try and chase the farm animals in his foster home, given the chance. In many ways, Zac is a puppy in an adult dog body.

Zac is learning (just like a puppy) to walk nicely on a leash and not to jump on people. He knows sit, down and shake. Zac has a good recall and is mostly housetrained (he wills till have occasional accidents in the house.

While other doggie friends would be a bonus for Zac, what he wants most of all is a person of his very own. He would love to be someone's best friend; to go for walks, chase a ball, snuggle on the couch. After his rough start in life, don't you think he deserves that?

Zac is currently being fostered in CT.
