About Aidan

*ADOPTED*

Aidan was relinquished to NEBCR by a loving family who had a change in their living situation that required rehoming him. He lived with two adults, an older dog and cat in a quiet household in a country setting. He did attend a basic obedience class before the pandemic shutdown started, but was not exposed to many new people and dogs after that time. He currently lives with two adults, two older border collies and a cat in his foster home. He gets along well with everyone and enjoys playing with the other dogs when they are in the mood to play. If the older dogs (or cat) are not interested in interacting with him, he responds well to their request.

Aidan

Aidan is a sweet and shy pup. It takes him a short period to warm up to new people. He will submissively urinate in some situations when he feels scared. He will also bark at new people in some scenarios. Once Aidan is comfortable with a person, he is a love bug.

Depending on the situation, Aidan may bark and lunge when he sees a new dog or crouch down submissively. He has met four dogs besides his foster brothers and quickly went into play mode once he felt safe.

Aidan

Aidan knows sit and down and is learning to stay on his mat. He absolutely loves playing with toys especially frisbees and balls. He brings the toy right back for another throw and is able to find the toy if it is hidden. If left unsupervised, he will often find a glove or sock to retrieve. He will even grab a remote or cell phone if left at his level. He has not damaged any of these non-toy items.

Aidan

He is also food motivated and loves his training time. He learns very quickly and is always eager to learn new things. He would be a good candidate for trick training, nosework, agility and obedience activities in the right hands.

Aidan would do best in a quiet home that is committed to continuing his remedial socialization work and interested in furthering his training. His foster home has been slowly introducing him to new things, but he needs more positive experiences in the outside world to become more confident. He is a very sensitive dog, so this needs to be done carefully so he continues to grow in the right direction.
