About June

*ADOPTED*

June is a 4 year old purebred border collie that was surrendered because she was not working out for goose work.

Upon entering foster care June was reserved and chose to stay in her crate most of the time. If given the opportunity she preferred to go outside, however, she is very agile and athletic and is able to get out of the fences when allowed to be out unsupervised (even with the option of coming back in the dog door.)  When outside with people June does not try to escape at all.

She loves being outside with people and wants nothing more than to play ball or frisbee, though she doesn’t often return the toy to you she will drop it someone in your general direction. She happily swings to fetch the toys as well.

She coexists fine with other dogs but mostly ignores them completely. She may try to herd them if she doesn’t have something better to do (like play with a toy.)

It was reported that she could get a little barky with new people initially, but that has not been observed in her foster home.

June is crate trained but can escape a wire crate if left home alone in one – she never tries to escape a wire crate when someone is home. She does well in a plastic vari-kennel type crate when left home alone.

June would be best in a home experienced with quirky border collies, with people willing to give her time to adjust, settle in, and bond with them.
